The Place
A place drawn around the water.
Coastal living designed for the curious and unhurried — an island held between the Gulf, the bay, and the wetlands, organized around the water rather than merely near it.
Artist's conception.
The Masterplan
Lots gather around
a marina and a center.
Discovery Sands was founded on the belief that coastal living should do more than offer proximity to water — it should be organized around it. Homes draw up to a central marina and town center, and channels reach out from there toward the bay, so the day can begin at the water and end on foot.
The Coast
The shoreline, the bay,
and the wetlands between.
-
The surf
The Gulf at the front door — sand underfoot, the surf to walk, and a horizon that promises something slower, something real.
-
The bay
Calmer water behind the island — for the boat, the paddle, and the unhurried line of an evening cast.
-
The wetlands
Marsh and grass that hold the coast in place — not a feature on a list, but part of the community's character, where the land meets the tide.
On the Water
Docks, channels,
and a place to put in.
Out on the West End of Galveston Island, the plan opens to the water — boat docks along the channels, and a way for a small boat to slip from the dock to the bay. Here the coast is not a backdrop; it is an invitation — the way you get around, not a view admired from a distance.

channels lead.
